Habits, Values and Lyft Lessons

Hi Everyone,

I hope many of you are enjoying the first flowers of the spring, and some warming weather, if you live in the Northern Hemisphere. I also hope you’ve had the opportunity to spend more time outside these past few weeks.

In case you missed it, I shared a story about a remarkable Lyft ride in a recent Friday Forward—thanks to everyone who sent in their feedback or shared their own similar stories vulnerably with me. Also, don’t miss the latest episode of the Elevate Podcast, where I interviewed BJ Fogg, one of the world’s leading experts on habit formation.

I have a few projects that I am working on that I am excited to share.

Discovering and Developing Core Values Course Revamp - With Live Coaching

One of the most valuable resources I’ve shared is the Discovering and Developing Core Values course. It has helped over 2,000 people create their list of personal core values, leading to significant changes in the way they approach work and life. Based on a lot of feedback from those who have taken the course, I am excited to announce I've expanded the original course, while also adding a new version with live coaching.

Standard Course: The course you know and love now includes 12 updated weekly emails with resources and guidance to help you internalize and apply the lessons and stay accountable. This updated version is now $105, but you can get $15 off this week with the code may15.

Group Coaching Course: I’ve also launched a new version of the course that includes a live group coaching session, which we piloted in December with great feedback from over 50 attendees. Anyone who purchases this course will be invited to live group coaching sessions with me, where I'll provide feedback on proposed core values, and you will have a chance to learn from your peers as they refine their own lists with group feedback. This course comes with a guarantee: if you take the course, do the work, come to one of the live coaching sessions, and aren’t satisfied with your outcomes, I’ll give you a full refund before June 30.

This new version of the course, including live group coaching, is available now for $195.

Friday Forward: A New Chapter

I'm excited to announce that Friday Forward will soon have a new home! I'm in the process of migrating Friday Forward over to Substack. Substack's platform offers fantastic functionality for writers, and I'm confident it will enhance your reading experience too. If you subscribe to Friday Forward currently, you will automatically receive Friday Forward via Substack when we make the switch later this month, but you can also check it out now.

This transition will also pave the way for more types of content in addition to your regular dose of Friday Forward. You'll also get the chance to be a Founding Member of my new upcoming leadership publication. Stay tuned for details.

Readers often say timing is everything with Friday Forward. That was quite true last week. On Wednesday, a viral video on a Kiss Cam at the Coldplay concert seemed to catch two people in an inappropriate embrace, pointed out by lead singer Chris Martin to 80,000 fans. You can watch their mortified reaction. Internet sleuths deduced that the two people in question were likely the CEO (who’s married) and Chief People Officer of a company, who clearly weren’t expecting the spotlight. I was...

Summer is quickly approaching, and I am excited for some travel with friends and family, as well as time with our new puppy. I’m hoping to rest and recharge before the home stretch of the The Compass Within launch, which kicks into full gear this fall. Before taking some time off, I wanted to turn the tables and get your feedback on a couple questions. Your Core Values Stories As part of the Compass Within launch, I’ve started writing a lot more and giving keynotes on the topic of personal...

2025 is underway and every gym parking lot in America is packed. But they'll be back to previous levels in just a few weeks. However, if you do want to make last changes this year, I have a few best practices that may help. Level Up Your Leadership This year, I’m upgrading the Foundation Member tier of Friday Forward, rolling in the benefits from the Elevate Club to build a leadership peer-learning group on Substack. Foundation Members will have access to all the Friday Forward Premium...
