Your Turn

Summer is quickly approaching, and I am excited for some travel with friends and family, as well as time with our new puppy.

I’m hoping to rest and recharge before the home stretch of the The Compass Within launch, which kicks into full gear this fall. Before taking some time off, I wanted to turn the tables and get your feedback on a couple questions.

Your Core Values Stories

As part of the Compass Within launch, I’ve started writing a lot more and giving keynotes on the topic of personal core values. Many of you have already shared your stories with me, especially those who have taken the core values course. But I would like to hear more stories and with your permission, share them as part of my keynotes.

I’d love if you’d reply to this email with your answers to one (or both) these questions.

  • What role do values play in your life today?
  • What positive changes have you made in work or life as a result of understanding your core values?

Elevate Podcast: Mailbag Edition

For years I have wanted to answer reader/listener questions on the Elevate Podcast and this summer we are going to make it happen. Send me a question you’d like me to answer on the Elevate Podcast, and my producer Mick and I will discuss these questions in a new type of episode we’ll roll out soon.

Follow Me On YouTube

I’m finally starting to make and share more videos on YouTube. There are already dozens of Elevate Podcast video interviews there, and I also have a brand-new video: 4 Books You Have To Read During a Life Change. Check it out, and I would really appreciate if you’d subscribe to my channel as well, as I will have a lot more videos related to the book and inspiring core values stories.

Thanks for your support and I hope you have a good summer!

-Bob

PS: One last reminder before summer vacation: you can get my $100 core values discovery course for free if you preorder a hardcover copy of The Compass Within and fill out this form. And I have some special bonuses for people who buy 10 or more books, including in-person and virtual keynotes, courses for a team or company, and more. See the packages.

2025 is underway and every gym parking lot in America is packed. But they'll be back to previous levels in just a few weeks. However, if you do want to make last changes this year, I have a few best practices that may help. Level Up Your Leadership This year, I’m upgrading the Foundation Member tier of Friday Forward, rolling in the benefits from the Elevate Club to build a leadership peer-learning group on Substack. If you’re shocked by that subject line, know two things: I’m not actually quitting, don’t worry. That shocked feeling you just felt is just like like when someone walks into your office, asks to speak to you and closes the door. And it's exactly what I’m trying to end with my new book, Rethinking Two Weeks Notice, which publishes today. Rethinking Two Weeks’ Notice replaces the outdated paradigm of leaving jobs with two weeks' notice with a playbook that prioritizes transparency, mutual...
